Space Coast Loop Trail
The Space Coast Loop Trail includes the Kennedy Space Center Loop Trail and the Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail. The Space Coast Loop is part of the St. John’s River to Sea Loop, which spans 300 miles across five counties and the Coast to Coast Trail that stretches across Florida from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.
In April and May 2015, 150 participants hiked or biked a 7.1 mile segment of the East Central Florida Rail Trail. Enjoy a video recap from one of the participants or view the event slideshow above.
Brevard County’s section of the Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail stretches from Canaveral Avenue to the Volusia County line. The paved 12 foot wide multi-use trail will connect with 52 miles of rail trail in Volusia County and is part of the larger Space Coast Loop Trail and Coast to Coast Trail. The Coast to Coast Trail travels 270 miles across the entire state. Approximately 75% of this safe, multi-use trail is already completed or funded for development.
The Kennedy Space Center Loop Trail will travel across the award-winning Max Brewer Bridge and through the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Canaveral National Seashore. This section is currently under PD&E and programmed for Design in FY 2022.
