2024 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims - Spotlight Campaign

BREVARD, FLA –Between 2019 and 2023,474 people were killed and 2,146 people were seriously injured in crashes on Brevard County roads. That's 2,620 people whose lives were changed or cut short due to a preventable traffic crash. Traffic violence doesn't just affect those involved in the crash; it ripples through homes, families, and communities.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year. It is a high-profile global event to remember the many millions who have been killed and seriously injured on the world’s roads and to acknowledge the suffering of all affected victims, families, and communities.

Join the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization online from November 17 - 25, for our World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims spotlight campaign. We will honor lives lost and impacted. Our goal is to amplify the stories of those lost to underscore the importance of ending roadway tragedies. Enough is enough.

Spotlight Post Example

In Memory of Jason Strandberg. Jason enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. He had a heart of gold and would take the shirt off his back, if you needed it, or would give you the last dollar in his pocket. He was a loyal friend, always making sure his friends stayed safe. Jason was also a caretaker for his mother and was her whole world. His sister said he was "the biggest goofball," standing 6.7 ft. with bright red hair, earning him the nickname "Red." His family misses him every single day. Join us in honoring Jason and other lives lost in traffic crashes during our World Day of Remembrance spotlight campaign from November 17 - 25, 2024.
