The Space Coast TPO Executive Committee evaluates transportation policies, procedures and programs in greater depth than can occur at regular board meetings. The intent is to ensure that the SCTPO is effectively addressing the county’s critical transportation needs. The Committee is advisory in nature and recommendations are presented to the full SCTPO for consideration.

The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) participates in the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDLCB) and annually appoints the TDLCB Chair. The TDLCB works to ensure transportation opportunities are available for all residents, regardless of age, ability, or economic status. The board also provides direction and advice to Space Coast Area Transit in the provision of transportation services.

Under the leadership of Space Coast Area Transit, the TDLCB holds periodic meetings and documents a Transportation Disadvantaged Service Plan . The Local Coordinating Board (LCB) for Transportation Disadvantaged Services meets quarterly to oversee the Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) program at a local level, by providing input on various issues, plans and programs. The primary focus is directed to the needs of the TD population, specifically older adults, persons with disabilities, persons of low income and children at risk. The TDLCB reviews price and service levels, safety concerns, eligibility, and other pertinent issues. Categorical appointments representing participating agencies and citizen advocates are made by in conjunction with Florida Statute 427. Check out the Current Membership Roster.

Meeting Time and Location

TDLCB meets quarterly (February, May, August, and November) on the third Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Brevard County Government Center (2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way Viera, Florida 32940: Space Coast Room, Building C, Second Floor). All meetings are open to the public and include sections for public comment.

Exact dates and times for future TDLCB meetings can be found on the SCTPO’s committees calendar and on Space Coast Area Transit’s public documents. Agendas are posted before each meeting in the Agenda Center section of the SCTPO’s website.

If any person needs special accommodations due to disability or language to participate in a Space Coast Area Transit meeting or event, he or she should contact the organization at 321-633-1878 no less than three business days prior to the event.

TDLCB Bylaws

The bylaws govern the TDLCB, which includes information on board structure and member requirements.
