Ellis Road/I-95 Interchange

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is constructing a new Interstate 95 (I-95) interchange at Ellis Road to provide direct access between I-95 and the Melbourne International Airport. These additional entrances and exit ramps will help relieve traffic congestion at the adjacent interchanges. It will align with Ellis Road on the east and will connect to a regional roadway network on the west.
Contractor: Jr. Davis Construction Company, Inc.
Project Cost: $39 Million
Estimated Completion: Spring 2021
Continuous Closure: John Rodes Blvd at Ellis Road
Upcoming construction activities will require a continuous closure of South John Rodes Boulevard at Ellis Road.
When: Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 9 p.m., through late fall.
What: Closure of South John Rodes Boulevard at Ellis Road, only local traffic will be allowed
access between Sheridan Road and Sarno Road.
Detour: Traffic will be detoured around the intersection using Sheridan Road, South Wickham Road, West Eau Gallie Boulevard, and Sarno Road.
Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained. Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists. Please note work schedules can change due to weather or unexpected conditions.
