IRLNSB Northern Extension Sign Unveiling Ceremony
October 29, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
A Scenic Highway sign unveiling ceremony celebrating the designation of the 38 mile northern extension of the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 5:30 pm at 19 N. Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL. (north bound US 1 just north of Garden Street (SR 406))
The 38-mile extension of the existing 195-mile Byway begins in Titusville and encircles the northern end of the Indian River Lagoon. The Byway extension includes the last major undeveloped area along the east coast of Florida, as well as the exceptional environmental resources of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Canaveral National Seashore and the sparsely developed northern reaches of the Lagoon.
The mission of the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway Coalition is to promote and preserve the historical, scenic, cultural, and recreational resources found along the Byway to visitors and residents, which helps to serve as an economic development tool for the area.
