Embraer Opens Engineering and Technology Center in Melbourne

Melbourne, and Brevard County, took a big step forward Monday toward the goal of becoming a world-class aviation and aeronautics hub as Embraer opened its first Engineering and Technology Center at Melbourne International Airport.

So far, Embraer has hired 70 engineers for the 75,000 square foot center, with an inital focus on aircraft interiors. The aircraft manufacturer plans to hire at least 130 more in the next two years for the center at Melbourne International Airport, where Embraer operates a global customer center and also assembles the company’s Phenom 100 and 300 business jets.
