The SCTPO maintains active membership in local, regional, and state planning organizations. Coordination among similar organizations assists with identification of project priorities, best practices, and regional needs and opportunities.
The SCTPO participates in the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDLCB) and annually appoints the TDLCB Chairman. The TDLCB works to ensure transportation opportunities are available for all residents, regardless of age, ability, or economic status.
The Community Traffic Safety Team is a group of local highway safety advocates who are committed to solving traffic safety problems through a comprehensive approach. The Central Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Alliance (CFMPOA) is an association of transportation and government organizations who meet quarterly to review transportation issues and opportunities affecting the Central Florida region. The CFMPOA develops a list of Regional Transit Priorities, Regional Strategic Intermodal Systems Project Priorities, and Regional Trail Priorities.
The Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council (MPOAC) is a statewide transportation planning and policy organization created by the Florida Legislature. The MPOAC assists in the transportation planning process by serving as the principal forum for collective policy discussions.
The SCTPO also participated in the East Central Florida Corridor Task Force. The 13-member task force was charged with identifying and providing solutions for the anticipated future development patterns and associated mobility and connectivity needs in portions of Brevard, Orange, and Osceola Counties.
