Plans Detail Embraer’s $76M Melbourne Expansion

Documents detailing Embraer’s $76 million expansion at Melbourne International Airport are moving through City Hall channels under the code name “Project Summit”.

The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer submitted a site plan application last week to build new facilities at its jet assembly complex off General Aviation Drive.

Gov. Rick Scott and other dignitaries attended an October groundbreaking ceremony celebrating this expansion, which will equip Embraer to assemble its Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 aircraft facility in Melbourne.
