A major detour is set to begin on State Road (SR) 46, as part of a project to widen and improve Interstate 95. The Lane Construction Corporation is performing the work under contract with the Florida Department of Transportation.
Eastbound/westbound road closure on SR 46 at the I-95 overpass is planned from 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5th to 5 a.m. Thursday, November 6th. This closure will allow the contractor to erect the bridge beam necessary for anticipated bridge widening operations. Detour signage is in place and the detour routes are:
If traveling eastbound on SR 46 to continue eastbound on SR 46 or travel northbound on I-95:
- Turn right (southbound) on Carpenter Road
- At Dairy Road turn left (eastbound)
- Turn left (northbound) onto Holder Road (see detour map)
If traveling westbound on SR 46 to continue westbound on SR 46 or travel southbound on I-95:
- Turn left (southbound) on Holder Road
- At Dairy Road turn right (westbound)
- Turn right (northbound) onto Carpenter Road (see detour map)
Inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work.
